Private Practice Audiologists

Private Practice Audiologists

As a co-owner of a private practice, it is often hard for me to justify taking time away from the office. However, attending AudiologyNOW! each year is always an easy decision and I have always greatly valued the time spent at the conference. There are so many reasons that make attending year after year mandatory for me. I go for the education, for the networking, for the socializing, for information on new technologies.

One event that I enjoy and have participated in for the past three years is the ABA Meet and Greet Luncheon. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet future colleagues, as well a current practicing audiologists from across the country. The students are wonderfully curious and eager to learn.

The formal course offerings are diverse and clinically applicable. The online Conference Planner and guidebook properly describe and classify what talks are appropriate for your level of knowledge. If you go for no other reason, as a private practitioner, go to experience the Exhibit Hall. There is no other place or opportunity to investigate and learn what is trending in the industry than by visiting the exhibit booths that display every conceivable facet of audiology. While the courses are great, I still feel that most of my insights come from the interactions, and side conversations that can only happen at a conference like AudiologyNOW! 2014. I leave feeling re-energized, filled with new ideas that help my practice grow, and help me to grow as a professional. I love the camaraderie, and welcoming environment. I also go to support the Academy and would encourage and highly recommend to anyone who has never gone before, to experience it. There is something for everyone.
