Levels of Experience
Most subcommittee and committee opportunities do not require prior volunteer experience unless specified. The Academy continuously seeks energetic and passionate members to help advance the profession! Click here to submit an interest form and begin a new journey in your professional career.
Some Experience Desired
Writing groups, select committees, task forces, and chair roles may require subject-matter expertise based on the specific activities or topics. The Academy will outline the requirements for these opportunities. More Experience Desired
Participation in the Jerger Future Leaders of Audiology Conference (JFLAC), application for Academy president-elect, and other select opportunities require more experience. Volunteer Recognition & Appreciation
Volunteers are highly valued and appreciated at the Academy, and we have several programs in place to recognize their efforts. These programs, along with ongoing acknowledgment from Academy leaders and staff, ensure that your efforts are recognized and celebrated.
Volunteer Appreciation Week
During the third week of April, we organize prize drawings, express our gratitude through various communications, and share appreciation posts on social media to recognize and celebrate the contributions of all Academy volunteers.
AAA Annual Conference Drawings
Each year at the AAA Annual Conference, we hold drawings for various prizes to show our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our volunteers.

Volunteer Requirements
Active Participation and Membership Requirements
Current membership is required for volunteer roles within the Academy. Volunteers must also participate in regular committee calls and stay involved with email communications related to council, committee, and subcommittee businesses.
Initial and Annual Volunteer Appointment Documentation
All volunteers are required to complete the Academy’s Conflict of Interest and Code of Conduct forms upon their initial appointment and on an annual basis. These forms ensure that our volunteers adhere to the highest standards of ethics and conduct.
