This presentation will provide a brief overview of affirming and welcoming practices for working with LGBTQ+ patients. The session will include language and terminology as well as ways to improve patient care through improved office policies, forms, and the physical environment. In addition, a variety of resources will be provided so that participants can stay up to date on best clinical practices as well as information for patients.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Evaluate knowledge of LGBTQ+ affirming language to use with patients.
2. Identify at least 2 strategies to increase affirming and welcoming practices for LGBTQ+ patients.
3. Recognize at least 2 resources to further enhance care for LGBTQ+ patients.
