Nova Southeastern University Clinic & University Campus
Patricia Gaffney, AuD, a professor at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, has gotten her campus, the university clinic, and her audiologist students involved with initiatives to celebrate National Audiology Awareness Month and National Protect Your Hearing Month.
The Nova Southeastern University Clinic of Excellence for Pediatric Hearing Healthcare is a community care facility that provides a full range of audiological services for newborns, infants, and children. The clinic enlarged the two different National Audiology Awareness Month and National Protect Your Hearing Month posters, and displayed them on easels at the front of the clinic. The posters will remain there for the month of October.
Patricia Gaffney also got the campus to announce National Audiology Awareness Month, among other events, on the three electronic campus signs located on the corners around campus and major intersections.
During lunch time, at Nova’s University Center, where many students eat lunch, the audiology students took time to speak with other students about audiology and hearing protection. They gave away custom flyers made by the Audiology Department and earplugs. The double-sided flyers featured smaller versions of the National Audiology Awareness Month poster, the National Protect Your Hearing Month poster, and noise facts
